Mile Tracker app

Client: Mercedes-Benz on behalf of My favourite story |   Role: UX & UI Designer

Originally briefed in to concept ideas for a small Christmas gift, the assigned team at My Favourite Story (formerly Digital Annexe) took the idea further and won the pitch to create a full utility app for Mercedes-Benz Fleet drivers.

We believed we could provide a more long-term and meaningful solution than just a one-off Christmas present, and so we embarked on a journey to design a tool that would help fleet drivers manage their day-to-day travels and subsequent expenses.

As part of a design team of two (Lead Designer and myself), I was involved in each stage of the project, from user research, wireframes to design. The app was for both iOS and andoid platforms, so we split the work by OS and I primarily working on the Android version, creating user flows, wireframes and the necessary technical documentation to ensure each eventuality and screen was covered.

Designs were created between the Design Lead and myself. I rolled out the android designs, picking up iOS designs when needed, and was the primary liaison with the developers over the build period.

. The result was a slick, easy to use and powerful app, with strong UI and UX across both platforms.

The outcome was a slick, easy to use utility app for both Android and iOS that alowed fleet drivers to track and expense their mileage (manually or via GPS), record on-the-road expenses, find the nearest and cheapest petrol station, and manage their parking locations and durations. The app was well received and quoted as being "A genuinely useful app" by Business Car magazine
